Strength & Resilience
Last week, when President Trump said that we should remain strong in face of the Pandemic and not let the Corona-virus dictate our lives, the media went nuts and ballistic telling everyone how dare President Trump say that given the over 200,000 deaths from the virus in the US alone. They held him in contempt for saying those very simple and practical words as it went directly against their No. 1 Mission or instilling fear in us, their audience.
If we truly feel strength and resolve in TACKLING this pandemic, Resilience is a natural by-product and something we can naturally create with our minds and the practice of mindfulness. Being mindful would be the exact opposite of what the media would want us to be as we may actually quit being prey to their 24x7 broadcast of fear and nonsense and that would directly impact their sponsors and advertisers and ad revenue.
Up until a few years ago, I still believed in the objectivity and purpose of news on BBC, Public Television and some finer publications like The Economist, The Financial Times and similar. But I have since come to a realization that even they are not free of bias and corporate requirements coming from their corporate owners or sponsors.
I’m convinced that as thoughtful citizens, most of us have the ability to be objective, independent and free of group think. Group Think is perhaps the most oversold nonsensical concept being championed by those in the media and those in politics. Group Think is the antithesis of Mindfulness.
I urge all of you to think freely for yourselves and tackle the pandemic with strength, vote with a clear and educated perspective and most importantly, DON’T LET THE CORONA-VIRUS DICTATE YOUR LIFE!
Be Mindful.
