2021 - The Year of Infinite Possibilities
As I create my first log of 2021, I am firmly grounded in 2021 being the year of infinite possibilities. As we march across this astro-physics driven timeline that we call the end of one year and the start of another, I’m not sure much changes but most of us use it as an opportunity to reboot, reset and plan again. And I think that’s a good thing.
But this year’s transition seems to be more pivotal to me compared to the last few years, given the challenges we have all faced in 2020 as a globe. Some of us wondered about what else could go wrong in the waning days of December. Many of us have had friends and family members who have suffered or lost their lives to the pandemic. As we take on the vaccines in 2021, the global hope is by the end of 2021, things will return to some sense of normalcy. I sure hope that is the case. But a ‘return to normal’ or as some tout ‘a new normal’ to me are both rooted in a lack of vision that should come from within.
The one thing that is normal is the concept of ‘Change’. That is a given, regardless of pandemics, natural disasters, wars or other geo-political events. With change, comes the potential for many possibilities, some of which we can shape and that lends us to the notion of Infinite Possibilities. Many have said and have heard the statement: Thought is Reality. Well, could we have an impact in achieving our own personal ideal outcomes? Could we thus tap into the notion of making come combination of possibilities real for ourselves? Can we reach a point in our own thinking, where we using “Mindfulness as the Art of Focus with Full Awareness” (Mindful-CPA definition)?
Normal or New-Normal is what we make it to be. Perhaps, Normal should be more Natural vs. forcing ourselves to group think or herd mentality. Normal is always changing and always will!
As I discuss via the tool shown below that I have developed called ‘The Compass of Mindfulness’, the four arrows point to the directions of Mental Readiness, Physical Readiness, our Past (Lessons Learned) and our Future (Ideal Outcomes). With the center of the compass grounded on the task we are focusing on. This sense of our ideal outcomes is something we can manifest via being open to Infinite Possibilities!
With 2020 being as tough and testing as it was, let’s welcome 2021 as a year where can manifest our ideal outcomes and shape a few possibilities from the infinite possibilities we have in front of us.
Be Mindful.
